The Christmas tune that Daryl Hall & John Oates covered in the mid '80s was "Jingle Bell Rock", not "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer". Although it failed to make the pop chart here in the U.S., it was released as a commercial single. At that time, the duo also made a video for the song, which was shown on MTV back in the day, and still gets some occasional airplay in the month of December on VH-1. Unfortunately, "Jingle Bell Rock" never appeared on any of their albums.
