I graduated high school in'84, there was some good music that year, i don't see mention of Purple Rain by Prince in there, that was released in '84.  Echo and the Bunnymen were my favorite band at the time, I saw them in conert at the Paramount theater in Seattle in '87 or '88, a buddy and I split a hit of acid, great show in a great venue.

Yeah, but If I were to list all of the awesome tunes released or charting in '84, I'd develop some serious writer's cramp.

I remember them quite well........in fact, I still have my 12 inch singles in a crate in my basement which I frequently play on my (what's it called?) oh yeah, my record player.......

I was only 2 years old in 1984. In '85 when I was 3 1/2 I dressed up as Cyndi Lauper for Halloween. My mom sprayed my hair orange and everything!

What really amazes me about 1984 is just how diverse the musical scene was then. Today, there's hardly any diversity at all and less categories of music to listen to, which is so sad...
