Subject: Reebok Pumps

OK, be honest, who were the Reebok Pump wearers here?

Personally, I never got a pair, much to my dismay.  My parents thought they were too expensive, so usually as a kid I was stuck with whatever was on sale at K-Mart or Target, LOL.

I think our parents must have shopped at the same fancy stores for our footwear.Nothing but canvas Nikes for me.

At least you got Nikes, I always had something like K-Mart Pro-Wings with velcro straps on sale for $5.99!  LOL

I didn't get name-brand shoes until I was probably around 10-11.  My first pair of name-brand shoes were British Knights.  Oddly enough, I kept the box to put things in, and still have it to this day.

I never had the Reebok pumps, just the Reebok high-top aerobic sneakers.  Man, were they comfortable!!

80sRocked, was Target even around back then?  In my part of the country (N.J.), they've only been around for 3 or 4 years.

I never liked sneakers that looked like sneakers (We didn't use the word "sneakers". We called them "tennies" short for tennis shoes, even if they weren't actually tennis shoes.). I liked Reebok or Converse high-tops that looked more like half boots.

I'm still that way today. I wear running shoes only when I'm doing some kind of exercise or sport.

Not to be nit picky, but wasn't the Reebok Pump from the early 1990's?  Now the Air Jordan's and the Nike Air, they originally came from the '80's.

Actually, the very first Target opened in 1962.

Target has been around ever since I can remember, here anyway.  They were few and far between, but they were around.

Unless my memory is way off, I believe they were in the late 80s.  Its possible it may have started in 1990, at the latest.

Reebok Pumps were indeed 1980's. I had 2 pairs in 1987 and '88.

No pumps. Just the high top aerobic shoes in many colors.

I had two pairs of reebok pumps.  One pair was Neon green, and the other was dark blue.  I thought I was so cool.
