Subject: UHF and other cheesy movies...

Written By: Rice Cube on 10/25/02 at 08:47 p.m.

I'm not sure if others had already talked about this, but since this site is a popular parody pantheon I thought we should pay tribute to Weird Al and in particular his cult classic "UHF".  I bought the video off of eBay for like $30 because it is out of print and ridiculously popular.  I also think this would be a cool forum for discussing your favorite movie quotes since UHF is full of fun things to elicit a chuckle (sorta like the 80s version of Monty Python movies).

My favorite quotes involve Kuni, the karate dude, where he always screams "STUPID!!!" and then at the end where he jumps out of a supplies closet and yells "SUPPLIES!"

Hope this turns out to be enjoyable :)

UHF is definitely an underrated movie.  It is very funny.

My favorite part is when Micheal Richards is eating that watermellon(I think it was watermellon, correct me if I'm wrong), and he says "...tastes like poop...".  I know its childish, but I crack up everytime I see that.

By the way, UHF is not out of print, it's still available at Amazon.com for $12.99 , brand new.  Also at Videoflicks.com for $10.78.

How about when he did the first Playhouse skit and he talked about life being like a mop?  That was very inspiring.

I like when the animal show host said the turtle was natures suction cups...then he licked the turtles' stomach and threw it on the ceiling. It may sound stupid but it cracked me up.

It totally killed me when he started throwing poodles out of the window.

Feel free to talk about other movies...SpaceBalls comes to mind.   8)

I really liked the cheesy-ness of Spaceballs. Not UHF  :P. But Spaceballs had some memorable moments. If you're in the right frame of mind, it can be down-right5 hilarious! I'm a "Star Wars" and other Sci-Fi movies fan, so that may have something to do with my view.  ;)

You can pick up UHF on DVD and there are a lot of really cool special features and deleted scenes on there. Great movie, should've won the Oscar.

UHF was a great movie and a cult classic no doubt. Wierd Al is the greatest and Michael Richards(Kramer) as Stanley Spidowski was great also. The movie is one of my favorites.

"These floors are dirty as hell, and I'm not gonna take it any more!" - Stanley Spidowski, UHF

I bought the movie years ago because I am a BIG Weird Al fan. I have learned just recently that it is out of print and hard to find. (I feel blessed that I got the movie when I did)  Besides Weird Al, I think that Anthony Geary is GREAT! He is such a fabulous actor (Any GH fans out there?). And of course, it has a Dr. Demento cameo. Haven't watch it in a long time. I think it is time to dust it off again.

My favorite thing about UHF would be the parodies, especially the Raiders of the Lost Ark parody at the beginning...
