Along the same lines..."The Naked Gun" :)  Every time I go to a ball game I heckle the ump during the 7th inning stretch to start doing the Frank Drebin-as-Enrique Pallazzo-as-home plate umpire routine...you know, calling the strikes while doing the splits.

But then again...it is just a movie

Hi every1, :D

Yes, I agree that the Goonies were sucha great film, definately my favourite :D  a good script, original story, great setting, great dialogues , I can't remember how many times I watched it! ;D

But there were some others I liked as well: Back to future, Dirty Dancing (how couldn't I? I really loved it!) and there is a film that really really touched me: "Deads poets society".The message of the film was just beautiful: chasing your dreams may be difficult but it is worth it. Because achievin real happiness is making your dreams come true. No matter how much it costs. I've seen this movie about 10 time sbut I still cry at the end of the movie, when all the guys stand up n say "oh my captain, my captain". That is when those guys became real men.

There were so many great ones already mentioned
Do you remember...

Enemy Mine
Angel Heart
After Hours
Animal House (I'm very surprised it hasn't already been mentioned)

and my personal favorite for frat-house humor...
Revenge of the Nerds

The top contenders are definitely Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Wierd Science, Goonies and Beetlejuice but, for me, The Burbs with Tom Hanks is the best . . .  :D

"I've never seen that. I've never seen anybody drive their garbage down to the end of the street and bang the hell out of it with a stick. I've never seen that": Ray Peterson

Classic stuff.

E.T. is my favourite 80s film. I saw it in the cinema last year when it was re-released to celebeate its 20th anniversary. I used to think it was rubbish, but I like it now. I have the 20th anniversary edition on DVD.

It is really hard to narrow my choice down to just one movie.

For today I will say:  The Lost Boys
