Subject: Right lyrics, wrong version/band

Written By: theeighties123 on 11/06/02 at 09:28 p.m.

Hi, everyone.

I know the lyrics to "Only You" which was sung by Yazoo and Jan Wayne but I remember a slow version with a "guy band". I remember the video with them sitting around singing and distinctly remember them singing the "badadadam" part. But every version I download is sort of fast with a keyboard/techno sound and isn't slow at all. And they don't even say "badadadam". Does anyone know the version/band I am thinking of? I hope someone can tell me I wasn't imagining things.

Thanks. I've provided partial lyrics below.

TheEighties123

Looking for a window above
it's like a story of love
Can you hear me
came back only yesterday
we're moving further away
won't you near me

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you

badadadam (7x)

Thanks a lot. You're absolutely right. I don' think I ever knew their name.

This message board is the best. Thanks again.

Yeah, The Flying Pickets released the song in the same year that the original Yazoo song was recorded.
