Subject: "Imagine That" (80's kid's show)

Written By: SammyReed on 11/18/02 at 02:49 p.m.

I got a video called "A Child's Adventure with Betsy Ross" at a thrift store a few months ago. I got it because it had Patti Deutsch on it.
When I watched it, I found out that it was an episode of a kid's TV show called "Imagine That", made in 1983. It starred puppet animals and the corny theme song kept mentioning "5th Street School". It was a show that taught US history. I know it wasn't one of those educational shows on public TV, because it said "Imagine That ... will return after this" on the screen a few times during the video.
It was apparently one of those shows that only lasted 13 episodes, because looking at the back of the box, the "video series" happened to have 13 "volumes". It also lists the guest stars of each episode, and they seem to mostly be from the world of game shows, such as Arte Johnson, Jack Carter, Marty Allen, and of course Patti Deutsch.
I have never seen this "Imagine That" show, because this wasn't on in my local area (or maybe it was on a cable channel, and we didn't have cable at that time). Has anyone out there ever seen "Imagine That"?
