Subject: 1987 - The Silencers

Does anybody remember a Scottish group called The Silencers? I'm having a hard time tracking down a CD of their '87 release "A Letter From St Paul". Any firm leads would be highly appreciated.
Cheers from Oz!!!

The Silencers' debut CD, A Letter From St. Paul, is some of the finest uplifting music from a downbeat Scottish band out there. This one appeared in the late 1980s, had a semi-hit single (Painted Moon). Other songs worth noting are I Can't Cry, Bullets And Blue Eyes, and I Ought To Know. Then there is the totally out of character, largely instrumental, spoken word A Letter From St. Paul. This CD is surprisingly out of print  >:(  and, at times, can be a bit pricey on eBay. Good luck!

Check today with this link -- there is a cassette listed that's still only 3.99 with two days left at auction.  Good luck!!!

Thanks for the very informative reply! I did have a cassette tape 'back in the days' and I fully remember the uplifting vibe of the music. Saw the Ebay item and won a 4-track CD single released from 'Letter...' but will keep searching for the full album on disc.
Thanks again! ;)
