Again, 16 Candles.  PIP is not bad but a bit more dull.

Which one had the father who could not get to an interview on time? That is the one i liked best. The one where her best freind keeps trying to get a date with her, and in the end sacrifices his wants to help her get her dream date. That was a good flick.

Hey John_Seminal...that was Pretty in Pink you're thinking of.  Ducky keeps trying to get a date with Andy and Andy's dad is hesitant to get a job.  Good pick...it has more of a storyline than Sixteen Candles!

16 Candles, her grandmother feels her up, how much more do you want from a movie?

16 Candles by far.  I thought that pink dress she had on in the end of "Pretty in Pink" was AWFUL!

It was pretty good.  But maybe this is what bugs me about it.  I would've taken Ducky in a minute.  He's so cute and '80s and Blaine is so.....plain.  High-voiced.  Wimpy.  ;)  Besides, what can be more irresistible than a guy who wants you?  (Oops, I guess both of them did, so that doesn't count here!)

I forgot about this but I agree!  It was HIDEOUS!  She would've been better off wearing her other clothes.  Any wonder we don't see "Andy" on the designer labels now?    ;)

I LOVED Andie's dress at the end of the movie!  Her whole wardrobe was way cool (better than the preppy white pants and button down shirts of the richies)!.

They're totally different, so it's kinda hard to say.  Sixteen Candles is more lighthearted, more of a comedy.  Pretty in Pik is more serious, and a bit more of a drama.  I have to say I like PIP better, (and the music is cooler, too).

I agree with you. I think she would have been better off with Ducky. I think he was the more interesting of the two guys. Ducky was willing to sacrifice for her, which says alot.

Ooh, its a touch choice but I'm slightly swaying more to 'Pretty In Pink'. The soundtrack was good and had a slighty more 'deeper' plot. And yeah, her dress was kinda hideous! But some of her other clothes were pretty cool. :)

Hahahaha it's so funny what comes of asking which movie people like better.  We start talking about the music, the guys, the clothes...it's awesome!!! :D ;) 8)

i gotta go with 16 candles.. just more of the "john hughes" type.. PIP kinda made me sad... when she's all upset cuz she doesn't want him to see where she lives.. :( i just love the quirky wierdo things that happen in 16 a little better...! i related to sam better (the horrible sibling, the pining for the super cute Jake etc.)

something odd i always noticed in PIP.. at the end, when andrew mccarthy runs out after her, i could always *swear* he was wearing a wig... trust me, his hair in that scene only always just looked.. fake.. next time you watch it, check it out.. so, anyway, one day i;m cruising around imdb.com, and i read in the "trivia" section that the original ending had molly ringwald end up with ducky, but test audiences hated it, so they decided to reshoot with her ending up with andrew m. he had already started filming a movie (not sure which one?) that required him to shave his head, so they fitted him with a wig for that one scene..!! i felt really relieved to find out *why* his hair was weird to me.. just thought i'd share!!
