Subject: BONKERS

Written By: JETTA00 on 11/25/02 at 02:57 p.m.

Does anyone else remember this candy?  It is from the 80's (of course) and the commercials were funny.  It was always some big fruit falling into a house and landing on a woman in a rocking chair...usually the fruit they were advertising for the bonkers...or one time it was a big chocolate bar!  Anyway, bonkers were like starburst but better...they were square with a darker square in the middle.  Like if it was a pink flavored one, the outside would be pink and the inside would be a darker pink.  They were really good but now I don't see them anywhere and I mean ANYWHERE!!!  Holla back if you remember them!

I remember them, and they were good. I also liked "Now or Laters". Today I do not eat candy anymore.

I remember Bonkers-had forgotten about those, they were good! They seem to have fallen into the same oblivion as many other sweets I enjoyed when I was a kid  :'(  ....like Chocolate Mint gum...I believe that was put out by Bubblelicious (and everyone thinks I'm nuts when I bring that one up!)

Hell yeah, bonkers were great. Grape was the best flavor.  Did anyone here remember buying gum that was shaped like a burger and came in a plastic container meant to look like the old styrofoam that the burgers used to come in at McDonalds and stuff? It tasted great. Speaking of McDonalds, who in the hell came up with the idea to put them in bags instead of those sweet boxes.  It just made the dining experience didnt it.
