Subject: a film locked in the recesses of my mind

Written By: m@ on 12/01/02 at 07:02 a.m.

hello everyone. how are you all?

i was wondering if any of you could give me a hand: basically, i am trying to get together some information on a film i loved as a kid, which was during the lates 80s and 90s. i watched this film alot as a child as my cousin had it on video and we both loved it. i am not sure though when the film was made, ie: whether it was new when we watched it or old. however, i estimate that the film is no earlier than 1980s.

the good news is, i know the name of the film and a little about it, what i need help with is where to look for more stuff on it: i can't find a thing on google search... so if you have any other suggestions as to where i can find things out then please let me know.

right, here goes:
the film is called the flight of dragons and was basically about four brothers who were all wizards. it is very lord of the rings-ish. the four brothers each represented a colour and therefore the medieval "elements" of the world. green, for earth; blue, for water; yellow/white for air; and red, for fire.
for some reason the fourth brother, Omedon or somthing similar, who was the red brother wanted all power and was plotting to take over the world. so the other three brothers summoned an alliance of people to fight against Omedon and destroy him. Carolinus, the green wizard, brought Peter a young scientist from the real world, into their world as Carolinus believed that Peter would be the hero. all i remember is that during an accident Peter's body was morphed with that of a dragon by the name of Gobash or Gorbash or something and Peter was inside him. there was also an older dragon who was Gorbash's guardian and a knight and his wolf, a female version of a Robin Hood type character and a dwarf whom i believe to have been called Giles... thats all i remember.
lol. it actually seems like i remember a lot but i am reall interested in finding out a lot more than this and maybe even getting my hands on a copy. if any of you remember the film i'd like to hear your thoughts, or if anyone knows of how to get more information etc please let me know
i'd like to hear your thoughts
thanks for listening to my musings.

I always try http://www.imdb.com for anything to do with film. The Internet Movie Database, the first and final resource for film info on the web!

*This is an unpaid endorsement.

i forgot to mention that the flight of dragons film is animation too. d'oh!  :o

its similar animation to that of the animated version of lords of the rings which was released in 1978, also The Flight of Dragons was released in 1982 and then re-released in 1986, i found that out from imdb.com, thanks to goreripper excellent pointer. lol.  :D

ok... does that jog anyones memory? it was a kickass animated feature...

I know the movie. The thing that jumps immediately to mind for me (since I'm such a fan of Three's Company) is that the scientist/dragon character was voiced by John Ritter...
