Subject: 80's toy

Written By: 80s chick on 12/01/02 at 08:28 p.m.

I am after the name of a toy I used to have when I was little.

It was a little smaller than a magnadoodle, same shape (flat) but it had 5 or so barbie looking girls on it and you could change what they wore. eg. the girls body parts were divided up and you could change their shoes, legs, arms, torso etc by using scoll bars which were on the left hand side or at the bottom I think.

It was pink and white in colour. Can anyone help???

Cheers,

Leexxx

:D ??? ::) :)

Oh!! I know exactly what you are talking about-you put the outfit together and then you put a piece of paper over it to get the outline of the outfit and then you could color it in? I had one of those, but don't remember what it was called either. I want to say Fashion something.  ???

I'm not sure if you're talking about the same thing as Leanne, but I think my sister had the thing you had. I remember that she could design outfits by shading on a paper with a crayon over a pattern.

Man, that's something I probably I haven't thought of since I was about 8 or 9 (insert longing for childhood here).  :-[

I know the toy you are both talking about but it isn't the one. Sobb.. Sobb.... The one you guys are thinking of is called Fashion Plates. You can actually bid for them on e-bay. Get on there and have a look.

The one I refer to also has a switch that lights up the background of the toy. The scroll bars are also pink and are rubber like.

Fingers crossed someone can remember the name of it.

Good luck on this one! I actually do remember the toy you are talking about-had been thinking of Fashion Plates but the more I think about your description the more I am certain I had one of the toys you are speaking of.....I could swear that "fashion" was in the name of the toy somewhere, but I've been online searching for awhile and came up with nothing!  :-/
