Good taste. I love Mel. Of course, I didn't really discover him until the 90s. In the 80s for me, I would have to say Patrick Swazey.

I definitely had a thing for Rick Springfield (esp. when he was playing Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital!), but I'd have to say my absolute favorite was Andrew McCarthy, of the infamous Brat Pack.  Now that I look back, he was kind of wimpy (or maybe the characters he played were wimps), but there was just something about him!  Maybe it was those green eyes that did it.

At the height of the New Kids popularity, there was a fan section in kmart dedicated to them. I was at the store with my aunt and her in-laws. There was this guy with us who practically forced me to pick out something from the fan section. I really didn't want to cause i didn't think much of their music. But anyway...i chose this huge pin of Jordan Knight. Kinda weird for someone who didn't like em much.  ???

From this decade? Far too many to narrow down to a single choice ;)

One girl I couldn't get outa my head, was the one from the Apple Macintosh advert, where she runs in and throws a large hammer at the screen to break the audience's concentration.

She certainly did that, what with the skin tight jogging shorts and almost needless running top; didn't leave much to the imagination and I'm sure that's what broke our video recorder what with all the rewinding. Good job nobody found out! She was just perfect.. :( :o ;D

Then came what became my life-long obsession with Duran Duran...and I can't go without mentioning Michael Hutchence.  I wish that I had gotten a chance to see INXS in concert.   :'(

During those heady days of the late 70s and early 80s, while my body was a hormonal riot of puberty,
I had 4 posters on my bedroom wall:

- Kate Bush
- Lindsay Wagner aka The Bionic Woman
- Jaclyn Smith from Charlie's Angels
- The Runaways featuring Lita Ford (good call resinchaser!)

The only poster my mother objected to was The Runaways because they were "awful, hardfaced girls
in leather catsuits".

I would have to agree with most of the ones already posted:

Shaun Cassidy
Rick Springfield
definitely Patrick Swayze (and still is)

but I really had a thing for:

George Michael- now remember, this is way before he had "come out" so I thought he was the sexiest thing to ever walk this planet.  And even though I know he "plays for the other side", I still find him incredibly appealling.

I don't recognise half the names so far!  But the blokes who rocked my boat in the 80s were mainly:
Midge Ure - lead singer in Ultravox - and I still fancy him 22 years after first seeing him on Top of the Pops!
Michael J Fox - especially as Marty McFly trying not to get off with his own mother in Back to the Future
John Cusack - holding up the ghetto blaster playing "In Your Eyes" in Say Anything
Peter Gabriel - singing about having sex and getting to no.1 in the charts in the process!
Nick Heyward - very cute and wholesome, just the sort of boy your mother would want her 13-yo daughter to bring home!  And he wore aran sweaters!

Apart from Nick Heyward, who I haven't heard of in quite a few years, I still fancy all these guys. . .

And I'm also one of the select few who had a thing for Leif Garrett - now there's a blast from the past :-)

HELL YEAH!!!! Me too!!

I think its really funny, but the first guy I think I ever remeber having a crush on was this really cute guy I watched in a music video. He was sitting at a table in a restaurant with sunglasses and a hat. I watched the whole video and then forgot it. I saw it a few years ago when my obsession started and realized it was Simon LeBon. I don't think he is cute any more and the crush lasted the length of the video but then again, I think I was 3 or 4 when I saw it. I just think its funny cuz my first "crush" was a Duran and now my idol is a Duran.
