Definitely worth watching, seems they will have like 9 hours worth covering the whole decade this week... heh.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!  Given the obvious amount of crap played on MTV and VH1 nowadays, it was a refreshing change of pace.  The whole thing about The Love Boat was hilarious.  I hadn't heard PatBenatar's "Heartbreaker" song in so long.  Definetly recommended...

Any program willing to devote a full five minutes to "Caddyshack" alone has got to be good.

I like how they broke it down by year, that gave them more time. Plus I like that they did not only focus on music, but on the TV shows and Movies. I liked that they spend a few minuites of the Dukes of Hazzard, especially Daisy Duke. I used to watch that show all the time. I wonder if those tight short shorts will ever come back in style?

I like it because they talk about hall and oates. And the rest of it was good too. I say for anyone who didn't watch it this week. Watch it this weekend. :) :)

Tonights episode was the best so far because they featured 2 of the greates movies of all time, Back to the Future and Goonies.

My only problem so far with the series is that I am getting tired of a couple of the commentators, they are starting to get annoying.

Also, can someone tell me why Raven Symone(Cosby Show) was on tonight talking about 1985?  She was only 1 year old in 1985, yet she was talking like she remembered everything that happened then.

I want to know how they picked the commentators?  Also, who picked their list of babes?  Geraldine Ferraro???  Come on!

I also liked it a lot; I liked the way they broke it down by year (80 - 83 were my favorite 80's years, so I loved the first two nights).  The content of the show was great, and the spent just the right amount of time on the subject matter.

What I hated, however, was the commentary by the "guest stars".  First of all, I didn't know half of the people, and the ones I did know I couldn't have cared less what they thought.  How did they choose some of them, too?  Daisy Fuentes?  I realize she was on MTV, but that was in the 90's....she was probably 3 years old in the early 80's!  It was annoying, and they would have done better without it.

That's my only problem with the series too. I really don't need to know which of the 80s stars the stars of today jerked off to!

I saw 83-87... I missed 80, 81, 88 + 89...  :-[  Will they be playing again?

I liked it, it was fun, though I would've liked to know more about the year I was born(80)...  Someone may've been just a kid back then, but that shouldn't be any reason to not let them participate

A few things though:
*they hated teddy ruxpin... and i grew up with him  :(
*they said the NES was born in 1983, but I read that it was released in Japan in 84, and USA in 85... gamers get no respect...
*Did they mention ninja turtles?  How could they talk about the late 80s & not mention Ninja turtles?  That was probably something i was looking forward to for the 88/89 episodes.

Otherwise, I hope they bring it to DVD... maybe with extras :D

Oh yeah, and I also hope for a decent 90s special.

I Watched all of them. Loved it. especially the 84-86 years. Was it me, or did most of these people seem to really hate the 80s? Rob Thomas is the only one I can think of, off hand, that seemed to like the 80s.

They picked it to be funny, I agree, some of those picks were a little off, they could have had a little more taste but I understood it.

Why not watch the VH1 Classic channel? They have a LOT of 80s videos.

Some people, like myself, don't have satellite/digital cable.
Or even don't have the channel on his/her dish/cable system.

Well, I finally caught the ones I missed.
They had a few things wrong on their special:

*The Ninja Turtles movie was 1990, not 1989.  Leonardo was mentioned as a hunk of 1989 ???  I know it was a joke, but why not show the cartoon version?
*The recent Mickey Mouse Club was actually 1991, also not 1989.

I was a bit disappointed by it personally, they left out a few 80s things, but I guess you can't cram 10 years into 10 hours.

They showed all of the episodes one Sunday back in January and I was such a couch potato that day! I stayed glued to the television for the entire day! ;D I really enjoyed it!

I loved it! It was cool for them to talk about the birth of The Simpsons in I love the 80's: 1987. They only showed the clips from the first short ever made. I wished they showed more clips from other shorts, too.

I liked Hal Sparks' comment on Teddy Ruxpin.

" I had a theory that they put subliminal messages in the Teddy Ruxpin tapes."

".... And Hansel went into the......... YOU HATE YOUR PARENTS! YOU WILL KILL THEM!!!!

I saw parts of it, and I can't believe some of the stuff they had. The logo they used looked more like something from the '70's than the '80's, and in the clip of Pat Benetar from American Bandstand, Dick Clark made her seem like she was the toughest rocker chick on stage. Trust me, after hearing "Bad Boys Get Spanked," by The Pretenders, you would've agreed that Chrissie Hynde would kick Pat Benetar's a$$ easily with that song alone, not to mention Joan Jett and Debbie Harry.

;D
