I forgot about Evita, and I even have the soundtrack (no, I'm not gay :) ). If you think about who Evita was before she was married, you might find that Madonna is more suited than you thought at first. But I agree, a movie based on a popular Broadway drama/musical is not where most people expect to see Madonna.

I must admit I did like her earlier music, but from 1990 on she just flat out sucked, in my opinion.  I also didn't like how she conducted herself in the music videos...just too much sex being thrown my way, kinda like an old-school Aguilera...

I agree RC. I loved Madonna in the 80's for her controversy and the cute bubbly music. After the 80's it does kind of go downhill. She tried so hard in the 90's to be shocking, when it just seemed to come naturally to her in the 80's.I think what puts me off of her is that she has reinvented herself so many times and so you wonder, who is she really? (Who's that girrllll..lol). This would not be necessary for a truly talented performer. Look at the Stones, and Aerosmith. Their images really haven't changed over the years and they are still putting music out there. And it isn't necessary for a female performer to reinvent herself to stay on top. Look at Aretha Franklin...as far as I know she is the same lady she has always been and is still the Queen. Just my opinion, of course...diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks. ;D
