Subject: 80s childhood dreams realized?

Written By: pell on 01/04/03 at 11:54 p.m.

This is two-part question:

1. Did you have any dreams or ambitions as a child that was peculiar to the 80s that you eventually realized as an adult?

It doesn't have to be anything earth-shattering. For example, I wanted to have a modem and communicate with other computers like Matthew Broderick did in War Games. Obviously I do that now. :)

2. Did you have any dreams that you could realize now that you're an adult, but probably won't?

I wanted to have battalions of Star Wars Stormtrooper action figures. Even though I could do that now, I probably wouldn't spend the money.

I ALWAYS wanted to do radio (be that DJ person you hear!) when I was in middle school.  We are talking like 1984-85ish.  I was one of those radio 'groupie' 'prize pig' types.  Anyway...I got out of that funk in high school and took a different direction, but ironically enough, in 1994 (I graduated in 90) I hit the radio scene and still do it today.  Weird how things like that work.

After seeing "Fame" I wanted to go to new york and to a arts school. I still want to do that. :) I have always love to dance. :)

After my mom and dad split and I was starting to get into the DJ thing, my mom & I always joked that one day she would be in a bar or club where I was DJing...it finally happened in 1997 when she came to visit me.   8)
