Subject: Buck Rogers or Battlestar Galactica?

Written By: RockandRollFan on 01/09/03 at 12:22 a.m.

Before the "Crash of 2002" this was posted by aphasia2000...though everything from January 2002 through mid April was wiped-out because of some idiot hacker...I printed some things up before...so here is just one topic to start with....again!

First...THIS is what the original post from aphasia2000 said:
"Which was it for you?  For me the thrill of Galactica was awesome, but I think even at the tender age of 7, Wilma Deering had won me over in that spandex space suit!

Just another thought - I once had to collect 10 candy wrappers and send em in to be sent a Buck Rodgers glow in the dark frisbee!  It would probably be worth a fortune by now, but I long since threw it off a clifftop in New Zealand(?!) Anyone else have/had some Buck/Battlestar memorabilia?

Now my reply:

I liked Battlestars' special effects and thought it was a more "Serious" show whereas Buck Rogers was funny.  If I HAD to choose...I'd pick funny over serious...although I liked both. I had a Buck Rogers lunchbox once..long gone though..

I liked them both, but "Battlestar Galactica" was tops for me.  :)

I was a big fan of both shows. It's hard to pick a favorite, so I'll say I liked them roughly equally.

My favorite "Galactica" episode: "War Of The Gods". My favorite "Buck Rogers" episode: "Mark Of The Saurian".

Battlestar Galactica ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I loved the old grey haired man. My mom divorced when I was still a baby, so I picked up on any men who were authority figures. Plus, Dirk Benedict (I think that is his name, he was also on A-Team) was appealing. I kept dreaming I was flying the small ship shooting cylons.

Battlestar Galactica was one of the coolest shows ever...

That one of the only tv shows I really remember watching when I was 6 or 7, other than The Muppet Show.

When I got older it was funny the first time I saw a rerun of Bonaza.   I was wondering how in the hell Lorne Green got to the Ponderosa so fast.  Actually, it was more the other way around since Bonaza was on in the 60s!

I do have to pay proper respect to Erin Gray when she was on Buck Rogers though.  She looked very good on that show.
If only she would have dressed like that on Silver Spoons...

Fu...er..., I mean Buck Roger. (lol) I remember one episode when they had this band. Buck said, "Oh, they are like the Beatles." Someone else said, "Who?" He said, "Not the Who, the Beatles." I thought that was so funny. Never watched Battlestar Galactica.
