Give credit where it's due.....

Michael Jackson

He may be a weirdo now, but he made the best videos back in the 80s.

I was going to say Michael Jackson, too.  His early 80's videos are great.  I have never been a big fan of his music, but the videos were fun to watch.

Duran Duran without a doubt. Every video of their's ever made was a work of video art.

Human League's "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" and "Don't You Want Me" are definitely a close second and third.

I was also going to say those.  Can't say I ever cared for the Peter Gabriel videos Sledgehammer and Big Time.

How about Whitesnake??  I loved the Here I Go Again video.  Not because of Tawny Kitaen, but because of the Jag she is dancing on!!

Duran Duran, without a doubt! When I think 80s music videos, they, along with A-ha's "Take On Me", are the first thing that pops into my head. However, so many videos were good. Things just aren't the same now, and I don't think they ever will be!

MICHAEL JACKSON had the best videos in the 80's....With Thriller, he redifined the "Music Video" adding a story line and everything...All of Mikes videos from the 80's Kicked...except for Liberian Girl...I wasnt cool with that one, he wasnt in it but for like 5 seconds at the end...

Dont call Mike a wierdo, the tabloids just warped his image...Michael is still the KING!!!

I agree that Thriller was probably the best ever made...although it was more a mini-movie than a video...but I'm very surprised no one has mentioned the video for "You Might Think" by The Cars....that was a GREAT video! Ric Ocasek "twirling" out of a lipstick tube? Now that's good TV!

Oh how I miss the old MTV....  :-/

I think these artists ha dteh best videos -

Duran Duran - they kinda broke the barrier with entertwining music and fashion - pioneers of the modern music vid
Madonna - 'cause they're all so different
MJ - 'cause  of  the lighting up pavement in 'Billie Jean', fantastic dance moves in 'Smooth Criminal', 'Beat It' etc...
Men At Work - Down Under - That video is great :]

(Edited to add) New Order - True faith - just fantastic!

You know what - I cant recall the Koala! They do end up on a beach and are digging, in sequence with kids buckets and spades. There's also a section where they're in a bar and the barman squirts 'Fosters' all over them! I have a section of the video on tape which was recorded in '83 - so maybe the koala but wasn't on the section I actually own!
