Subject: A Flock Of Seagulls

I'm only 24. I saw the video Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You) on VH1 Classic a while back and I thought it was pretty high tech looking for 1983 with themes of space, aliens, computers, and the future, plus the song itself is has a great melody. The original version was about five minutes long but they also recorded an extended version which was almost ten minutes long. A Flock Of Seagulls don't get much credibility because of the strange hairstyle lead singer Mike Score had, anyway a great band, one of the more overlooked bands of the new wave genre.

I'll be brave and say I like AFOS as well, and that was in spite of the hair !  ;D

I, too, like AFOS.  "Space Age Love Song" is my favorite track by them.

I like A Flock Of Seagulls too!  :D  Definitely one of those 80's icons, IMO.

I had always known who AFOS was, but had only heard a couple of their songs.  A few years ago though, I finally heard Wishing.  I really dig that song now...

I just spent $70 on their second CD, Listen.. out of print and hard to find on CD.. my vinyl was way too scratchy to make a good rip.. and I hate trying to reconstruct albums from mp3s.. plus the CD had tracks from the casette which weren't on the vinyl LP...

I was a huge fan of AFOS.. their last album wasn't too bad.. but after their first two, it was clear there better days were behind them.. I have their video 45 which has Wishing, Nightmares, and I Ran on it... Nightmares had a nice dark feeling to it..

of course no one beats Duran Duran for excellent early music videos.. they still look better than most videos being made today..

I wish whoever owns the catalogue of A Flock Of Seagull's albums would re-master and re-release them on CD. To my knowledge none of their albums are in print today.  :(

AFOS--- I loved them partly because of their hair!  Besides the aforementioned tunes, "The More You Live The More You Love" & "Space-Age Love Song" are also a great songs.  This could be said for A LOT of 80s music, but... I never listened to AFOS and then got bummed out.   :)

They were a favorite of mine back in '83-'84.  First concert I ever saw was them and they were great!  Nowadays I still enjoy listening to their music on occasion.  I wish their 'sound' was the style of today!  :'(

I'm a Flock fan, but sadly I was too young in the 80s to go see them. Luckily when they released an album in 97 (I think) they held an open air concert in our town. I got to meet Mike and the rest of the band and get them to autograph one of my cds. :)
