It seems to me that there was a great deal more variety. And, it really depended upon the group you ran with, so to speak. Please teens don't get upset and correct me if I am wrong...but I don't see a whole lot of variety. But maybe it is just the area I live in  :-/

There was variety alright! Punks, new wavers, burnouts, preps and oh yeah, those variations exist today but with everybody tattooing and peircing and dying their hair, you end up with very fuzzy distictions between the groups.
