Subject: an All-80's TV Network...

Written By: 80sRocked on 01/16/03 at 02:39 p.m.

wouldn't it be so cool if there was an entire TV network dedicated to nothing but the 80's?

I mean think about it, this could be the lineup:

Weekdays:

Mornings:  80's cartoons
Afternoons:  80's gameshows/various 80's shows
Evenings:  various 80's sitcoms/dramas
Latenights:  80's music videos

Weekends:

Mornings:  80's cartoons(the great 80's Sat. morning cartoons of course)
Afternoons:  80's movies
Evenings:  various 80's sitcoms/dramas
Latenights:  80's music videos

Man that would great!

Unfortunately, it takes a lot of mula to start a TV network.  Maybe one of us will win the Powerball drawing.  Until then...

Well, it could have been me who was that West Virginian that won that $315 million Powerball jackpot but it was a Putnam County millionaire who really didn't need the money.  He has pledged 10% to two churches in West Virginia and another in California.  But no one hit the jackpot last night, and if I can go out on Saturday, I might just buy that ticket!

That would be Cool.  You can find 80's shows on TV, if you search hard enough.  I would but 80's cartoons on from 2:30- 5:00.

We should contact our local cable networks.  If they just combined some of the shows on their networks into one channel.  then VIOLA

and don't forget care bears, My little pony, and POUND PUPPIES

OMG could we do it? I'd be SO into that! An all-80s channel would be, like, totally tubular!!

We could re-run Knot's Landing in it's entirety!! ;D

If I had the money I would start one!!!!!!!   I keep hoping someday there will be an all 80's channel:)    To even be able to watch shows that may have only been on one season or less would be great too:)  There is so much out there that could be shown, but all we get to see is the same shows.    Knots Landing is on the Soap Channel on digital cable.

I wish this would come true. It'd be nice if it had old commercials on it too . Especially this Cherry 7up one I have stuck in my head. I'd kill to see that again.

It would be great and, you know, I wouldn't be at all suprised if one went on-air sometime.  Stranger things have happened...

I am really surprised it hasn't already happened.  So many current TV/Cable/Satellite networks already carry a number of 80's shows here and there, so they know there is an audience for them.  I look for someone to start an all-80's network in the next decade, if not sooner.  If the "TV Land" channel can survive, then so can a similar all-80's channel.  Its just a matter of time till someone with enough money and executive clout realizes it.

80'srocked. I like your name, Pic a Mr. Ronald Reagan, and your idea. Good point too, if T.V. land can survive so would an 80's channel.

Excellent idea! There are many shows from the 80s that haven't been aired in a long time like Mr. Belvedere, ALF, and Head Of The Class to name a few. I don't know if it would take big bucks to purchase the syndication packages for the many shows from the 80s that are not shown anymore. Man oh man it would be ultra cool.  ;D

I always thought it would be cool to recreate a certain night of television. For example you could have all the shows that came on ABC on Tuesday night...I think at one time it was Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Three's Company and then Too Close for Comfort.
