Subject: Need Help with 80's artist and song!

Written By: Jynx on 01/17/03 at 10:23 a.m.

Hi all, I am searching for an Artist and Song from the 80's.  I think it falls under Dance/R&B.  All I have is one phrase of lyrics from the song and I am hoping someone can help me identify the artist and song.  Lyrics are:
"There's a wild party going on, gonna call the law"
I appreciate any and all help!  Thanks!

Maybe "Dancin on the Ceilin" by Lionel Ritchie?

Your "mystery song" is probably "Call the Law" by The Reddings, a big hit on the r&b chart here in the U.S. in the Fall of '88. (It failed to cross over to the pop chart.) It was off their 1988 album, simply titled The Reddings. Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print, although it did come out on CD here in the U.S...

BTW, The Reddings were related to the late r&b singer, Otis Redding...
