You can always settle for the good old-fashioned kind of party food...pizza! Just be creative when adding the toppings.

You can add pineapples & pears(for sweetness), grilled chicken, sliced tomatos(small ones). And for a "kick" add some hot sauce, and Bon Apetite! You've got the perfect party pizza:D.

If you want food from the 80s, check out my grandmothers freezer. She keeps things for waaaaay too long, i'm sure there's some food in there from the 80s, maybe even the 70s. NO JOKE!

Do they still sell JELLO pudding pops?

The casual party foods I remember from the 80s are Potato Skins, microwave popcorn, and Buffalo Wings (I think). Wasn't Ranch dressing the dip of choice?

How about some Wendy's "Where's the beef" burgers?

Getting fancier, Sushi and Seared Tuna was big, and ingredients like sun dried tomatos, goat cheese, carmalized onions, roasted garlic and roasted red peppers showed up, especially on "gourmet" pizzas. Cajun was huge. Blackened anything sold like hot-cakes.

Drinks: Snapple (especially their clear "Tru-Rootbeer") and New Coke.

...and whatever you do, don't forget the Zima!

Wasn't Zima a 90's thing? I don't remember seeing it in the 80's.

Oops. I (as is Zima) am clearly wrong. Sorry.

Wasn't Brie big in the 80s?

And wasn't fondu a 70s thing?

I agree on the potato skins, and would add fried mushrooms and fried cheese.  Perhaps it was regional, but those things didn't show up in our town until 82-83 (we were pretty rural, though!)
There was also a baked potato resturant in our town....just potatoes and every kind of topping you could think of.  My friends and I really loved it...although now I question the business acumen of the owners....just potatoes?!
I think Sizzlean bacon came out then too, but would be weird for a party.  You could include cherry coke as a beverage, I think.
Have a great party!

Candy Necklaces, Blow Pops, and Ring Pops. God, the early 90's had some fun 80's leftovers.
