Subject: David Lee Roth Videos

Written By: Mike on 02/02/03 at 05:42 p.m.

Hi all, I was looking for that old David Lee Roth video.. I think it was called "Skyscraper".. the one where he's made up as this HUGE, fat guy.  Some sappy guy asks him if he lost weight.. "NO.. I gained 80 POUNDS!!" shouts fat Dave, and shoves him away by the face... There was also this other DLR video with the immigrant grocer and the black girl... "Ooooo Breath-mint..." says the grocer... The Girl gets up in the camera ans says.. "OOO-ooo ... NOT if you was the LAST immigrant grocer...." These were a lot of laugs, but I cannot find any information on either of these clips.. any help would be great! Drop me a line sometime! Thanks.. Mike

That was the video he made for "Goin' Crazy!", a moderate hit here in the U.S. in the Fall of '86. It was off his 1986 album, Eat 'em and Smile...

I'm pretty sure that was the video for "Yankee Rose", a major hit here in the U.S. in the Summer of '86. That was also off his 1986 album, Eat 'em and Smile...

Agreed. Love him or hate him, DLR usually had a keen sense of humor in his videos... :-)

Hey,  :)
Any chance of finding these clips on a aidoe collection somewhere?? I have been watching VH1, but they seem to skip DLR... have you seen this clip recently? Thanks!

My favorite was "California Girls"where he's on the beach with lovely bikini-clad women

and "Just A Gigolo".

Don't know about regular VH-1, but VH-1 Classic shows DLR's videos for "California Girls" and "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" fairly often. Have also seen "Yankee Rose", "Goin' Crazy!", and "Just Like Paradise" a couple times each in the 9 months I've been getting the channel now...

Oh yeah Dave has always been an bombatic showman.  If you want to see tons of good looking girls look no further than a DLR video.  ;D
