What was the FIRST music video you ever saw on MTV?  Mine would be "White Wedding" by Billy Idol.

Sunglasses At Night by Corey Hart. Saw it on a Saturday when they used to play videos in between cartoons.  I remember What's Love Got to Do With It by Tina Turner was on afterwards.

The first video I saw on MTV what Men At Work's "Who Can It be Now?".  I didn't get cable until October 1983.

The first video I saw prior to getting MTV was either Eddy Grant's "Electric Avenue" or "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" by The Eurythmics.

My first video experience not on MTV was "Wet Paint" on Sesame Street.

But on MTV, I'd say it was the Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me"...which was basically the Breakfast Club clipshow :P

For the life of me, I can't specifically remember the first video, but I think it might have been I Want A New Drug by Huey Lewis and The News.  After that, Sports was may favorite album for quite awhile.

I remember being upset because cable wasnt available in my area yet when MTV first went on the air.  But when we did finally get it, I think that "I've Done Everything For You"/Rick Springfield & "Planet Earth"/Duran Duran were among the very first videos I saw.

We didn't have MTV back then, but the first video I ever saw was Livewire by Motley Crue on a show called Video Hits that aired on the CBC.

It might have aired on Muchmusic, I was young at the time.

We also did not have cable for most of the 80's, but there was a local, indy station that I used to get on my rabbit ears.  The first one I saw was "The Ghost in You" by (I think) the Psychadelic Furs.  At least, that's the only one I really remember.  It had to be either that or "Voices Carry" by 'Til Tuesday.

Gary Numan-"Cars"

I remember being mesmerized with this one.  Gary was standing singing and playing his keyboard in a neon pyramid.  Looks so simple today but I thought it was the coolest thing back then.

Prior to MTV, it was Meatloaf's "Paradise by the Dashboard Light." I can't remember what show I saw it on. On MTV, it was the Motel's "Only the Lonely."

I wish I could remember. I'm guessing Jack and Diane but I think it was more like Whitney Houston's Greatest Love of All which means we didn't get MTV until sometime in 1985 and that doesnt make any sense because I remember seeing Madonna sing Like a Virgin at the Music Awards. I guess I have no clue. I remember the first movie I watched on HBO. Night of the Comet.(totally random thought ,sorry)

I have been watching a series on Much More Music called "Top 80 of the 80's" by VH-1 and it reminded me that the first music video I ever saw was "Rockit" by Herbie Hancock.  I can remember watching it at age 14(?) or so on some half hour music video show that used to come on late at night.  That had to be in and around 1984 or so.  It would come on right after "SCTV" and before "Benny Hill"   :D
