Ok, you've heard of some songs from the 80's that sound 90's, right?  For example:

Begin The Begin- R.E.M

What I am- Edie Brickell and the New Bohamians

It's the end of the world as we know it ( And I feel fine)-R.E.M

How about some more?

The Replacements "Alex Chilton"
(sounds like 1995)
Tracy Chapman "Fast Car"
(Pre Lilith Fair)
Faith No More "Epic"
("The Real Thing" album was released in 1989) 8)
10,000 Maniacs "What's The Matter Here"
(Pre Lilith Fair)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (songs done between 1984/1989)
...RHCP were way ahead of it's time in the LA club scene  ;D
The Replacements "Can't Hardly Wait"
(sounds like 1995)
David & David "Welcome To The Boomtown"
(sounds like early '90's)
Nirvana's "Bleach" album (1989)

Well, there's some suprises...   :D

Samantha Fox "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)"
The lyrics and some beats could've been done during
the end of the 1990's. Like Britney Spears! (Blech!) :P

Almost everything by R.E.M. sounds 90s.  Hard to believe they were from the 80s.
