Subject: Something for Rick Springfield fans...

Written By: Durania on 03/14/03 at 07:56 p.m.

I was just goofing off on the web, and pretty much TRIPPED over Rickspringfield.com, where to my extreme surprise I discovered that Rick is touring this year.  He'll be doing a date in Atlanta, which is close enough for me to get to, YAY!

I havent really kept up with him much over the past several years.  Twenty years ago though, at the age of 12 I was his number one fan (or so I thought!)  Now if Duran Duran will just finish their new album and start their tour within the next year...although I might not survive if I saw Rick AND Duran Duran all in the same year...

Anyhoo, just thought I'd pass the word along to anyone who might be interested.

Thanks Durania!

Rick Springfield is another major 80's contributor. He rocked!

I saw him play at the "Sunfest" last year in Ocean City, MD & he ROCKED!  I was bever a big fan of Rick, but he was soooo good in concert!  He was really into the crowd, even pulled a couple of people on stage to sing with him.  I would definitly recommend anyone to go see him.  Even if you weren't a fan in the 80's, you might be surprised.  He looked really good too! ;) (I always did have a thing for Dr. Drake on GH!)

He did one of our radio station's "Second Chance Prom" in 2001.  Likewise, I wasn't really in to him that much, but he put on a great show!  :D

I saw Springfield in November here in Michigan. I was a lot more impressed than I imagined I would be. Springfield decided to venture out into the crowd at one point and ended up staying there for a half hour. He was only about six feet away from us at one point.

He does indeed put on a great show. At the show I saw, he just ripped through a cover of "Gloria" by Them that was beautiful to behold. If you get the chance to see him, by all means take it.

I didn't say it for some reason, but I HAVE seen him once before.  WAY back in '82 when I was 12.  It was my very first concert, and Sparks opened for him (anyone remember 'Cool Places'? - I loved that song)
Anyhoo, I still remember parts from that concert pretty vividly, and can't wait to see him again.  He really knows how to work a crowd.   :-*
