Subject: Great time for THAT song to play...

Written By: Durania on 03/18/03 at 12:57 a.m.

I can remember several examples of both good AND bad timing for certain songs to come on the radio throughout my life...I'm sure everyone has a few of these.

One of mine:

My first boyfriend and I were not good for eachother at all...so we did the classic 'get together, break up, get back together' scenario off and on for almost 6 years.  But the day that I left him for the last time (I had carried the last of my stuff out of his house, put it in the trunk, slammed it, turned my car on and started backing out of the driveway...the radio then played:
Hold On / Wilson/Philips  -- I sang my heart out all the way to my new apt!
This song still means a lot to me, because at that time I was scared to death because I wasnt sure yet I was doing the right thing, and scared about being on my own.  It helped make things a lot more clear for me  8)

I hope this subject isn't too taboo for the boards!

Well, I was on a date with a guy I really liked.  We were in the car and he was kissing me.  The song, "Love Bites" was on the radio.  He sang the "I don't wanna touch you too much baby, cuz making love to you might drive me crazy" part to me.  He was a truck driver for the company I worked for.  The next day he left, he had to go home (he lived in Seattle and I live in Utah) as his mother died.  He ended up quitting and I never saw him again. :'(

In high school I had this boyfriend named Eric & we dated for about two years & unfortunatley his dad had to relocate his family to Puerto Rico for his job and the night before he left I went to see him for the last time, so I get in my car and on the way home I hear, "Foolish Beat" by Debbie Gibson & had to pull into a gas station cuz I was crying uncontrollably. :'(

That's a bummer Dagwood.

They should have played "I'll Be Back" by The Beatles, or maybe "Love Me Two Times" by The Doors  :P
