Subject: 80s role models

Written By: pell on 03/26/03 at 09:08 a.m.

Growing up in the 80s, which personalities or movie/tv characters did you try to be like, or who shaped your idea of who you wanted to be when you got older?

When I was younger:
Han Solo ("Star Wars")
Ponch ("CHiPs" TV show)
John Travolta ("Grease" and "Urban Cowboy")
Sylvester Stallone (especially "Rocky")
Clint Eastwood (later roles in "Every Which Way but Loose" and "Honky Tonk Man")
"Billy Jack"

As a Teen:
Richard Greico (Booker in "21 Jump Street")
Andrew "Dice" Clay
Chuck Norris
Jack Nicholson ("One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest")
Paul Newman ("Cool Hand Luke")

I guess I identified with "attitude". Fortunately I grew up and realized there is a difference between public persona and true personality. :)
