I've recently heard the Land Downunder in two movie trailers, I Ran for a video game advert., and a car advert. and Cars on a car advert.
Anyone else noticed these songs played acrossed America, yet again on TV? ??? ??? ???

Pepsi used I Ran in an ad in which a bald guy wishes he had hair like he had in highschool, then they cut to him with hair like Mike Score. I thought it was hilarious.

All the car companies are running ads with 80s sound tracks at the moment. I've even heard "Blister in the Sun" in one of them!

Nostalgia sells and 25-40 is the target demographic. Beats the hell out of "Hey now, you're a rock star..." in every other ad. ;D

Yeah, there are lots of 80's songs being used in commercials for the past while. Nissan is currently using "Cars" by Gary Newman.
Speaking of Nissan, anyone remember the 300ZX commercial in the '90s spoofing Ken & Barbie and used Van Halen's "You Really Got Me"?? You can d/l the commercial here: http://www.clevelandzclub.com/commercials.htm 8)

I know it's not 80's but don't forget the timeless Rock'n'Roll by Led Zepplin used by Cadillac.

And I noticed a recent commercial for Milky Way that uses Tommy Tutone's "867-5309/Jenny"!

How about the following?
I Melt With You, You Got Another Thing Coming, Always Something There to Remind Me - all used by Burger King.
You Really Got Me - by Nissan
Rock You Like A Hurrican - by a car commercial
Crazy Train - another car commercial
London Calling - car commercial (I think it's Jaguar).
