It was orginally from the play Chess. I listen to it all the time. Great song.

Actually, there were TWO versions of "One Night in Bangkok" out at the same time. Murray Head did the version that became more popular. However, there was also a lesser-known version recorded by a female vocalist named Robey. She later went on to appear in the television series based on "Friday the 13th".

I have the Broadway version of it with Phillip Casnoff singing it. Murray Head did the London Version. Personally, I like the Murray Head version better.

It was a great song but sometimes it didn't seem to gel (Do you know what I mean?)  :-/

Excellent song.  Just another fyi...it was cowritten by the ABBA fellers (Benny and Bjorn I think!!), along w/Tim Rice.

i love the british cast recording

the usa recording was crap

i hated it!  the woman who played florence in the usa cast had such an annoying whiny voice

man, i wish i coulda seen the british cast on the london stage!

dangit...they should make a film version of the musical Chess
