Subject: THE LOST BOYS-THE 80's ON SCREEN

Written By: Martha on 04/17/03 at 05:42 p.m.

The fundemental aspects which made this crazy decade are all part of Joel Schumacers; The Lost Boys.

>The parents; teenagers/in their early twenties in 1969, never to suspect the radical transformation to the decade which will forever remain dated but never betterd. The close call teens of the 80's came to being christend; moonbeam or moonchild.Pretty mellow, embarrasing parents as result. Mortalised in Lucy, the recently divorced "mom" on the pull...
>The fashion and youth groups; Santa Carla board walk holds the variatons and striking colour of brain dead hippies in trollys, punks, goths, haed bangers and what not..
>The Music. What can i say? The enthusiastic swear-by of hope, to believe in nothing in particular, the aknowledgement of times not being dandy and more saxaphne solo's you can shake a wet stick at. Synthesised Heaven!
>Last but not least, the thing that says it all: The Hair.
The hair in this film physically botherd a lot of people, but if the cant handle huge frizz bomb explosions of hair, spikey at top  long at bottom blonde locks, they just square

The film end on a note of irony, an alternative cut ending was zooming around the night sea until a mural from the 1900's is reached. Camera slowly approaches it, revealing an ovbious portrait of the haed vampire Max......grinnig widely.

But that ending just wasnt 80's enough i guess... 8)
