Subject: Where Did You Spend The 80s ?
Where did you live in the 80s decade ? I thought about this and I was ALL OVER ! I Lived :
1980 - 1983 : Sacramento, CA
1983 - 1987 : Hollywood, CA
1987 - 1988 (six months)- Newburgh, New York
1988 - 1989 (and still) - New York City
I think the 80s were the most mobile decade for me !

Spent all of it living in Phoenix, AZ, with various summer vacations:
84, 85, 88: Chicago IL
86: Los Angeles & San Diego CA

The 80's is my least favourite decade so far but ironically it contains the most fabulous 6 months of my life. That was in '82 living in London and shooting off on little holidays to Europe and other parts of the UK. It was magical except I lived too hard and drank too much the whole time! :o
The rest of the 80's was spent between Brisbane and Rockhampton in Queensland.

I grew up in Potomac, MD (just outside of D.C.) which is where I lived in the 80's until 1989 when I moved to Boston to attend college.

Early 80s spent in Kansas, 1985 -1988 in Dallas/Denton Texas area. 1988 a brief bout in Virginia, just outside DC. then 1988- back to Lawrence Kansas.

Got out of the service in 1989 and moved to the state I am living in now.
I think I moved around more in the 70s before joining the service. I went to 11 different schools before I graduated from high school. And NO, I was not a military brat. :-/

I know where Newburgh is, that is why specified the other two places. I actually lived in Wappingers Falls and Port Ewen. I'm sure very few people know where either one of those are.

Hey PoP! when I was a kid I used to live in Mt Vernon, not to far from the yacht club and Washingtons home. We had a sailboat that we took to a local amusment park that had a dock on the water. I can remember riding a small rollercoaster called the mousetrap. Any clue to what the amusment park's name was? This was back in 75 and I was 9 years old. I can imagine the area changed alot since that time.

I used to live in Takoma Park and Arlington (for about a month) but that was back in the 70s. My dad and my honey's son now live in D.C.

In the early eighties I was at school here and then I started work in the same town less than a mile from my school.

When I think of the 80s, I think of my days in L.A. (83 - 87). Where did you live ? I lived on Mariposa between Hollywood and Franklin. That's Los Feliz. Wah, I miss the natural food stores there and Raley's.

Hi there! The only thing that comes to mind is "Glen Echo Park" which used to sit right on the Potomac River but on the Maryland side....not too far from Great Falls. I used to go there on school field trips back in the 70's. :)

Thats it! I remember now! Thanks PoP! :D I wish I could have stayed in the area but my dad worked for the pentagon and then had a 3 year overseas assignment in Morroco >:( I had several good friends I left behind there :-/ It was a great place to grow up!

Hiya, Deemoe! I lived in the North West section, near Kennedy High School.
I now live in South Florida where it seems half the population is from NY. We're taking over! ;D The weather here is great but my heart will always be in NY.

Hiya Princesa! So you were near Riverdale, huh? Pretty nice up there! I had a friend that went to Kennedy High in the late 80's. I went to Walton High,near Kingsbridge road, if you ever heard of it.
Did you go to school here in the Bronx or in the New York area? Hope you're living it up in Florida. I Hope to go visit my family down in the 'SUNSHINE STATE' this summer. They live in Port St. Lucie,5 minutes from the beach,pretty cool,huh? byeee!! ;D :D ;)

I spent a good chunk of the 80's at Chandler High School in Chandler, AZ. I went to college for one semester in Provo, UT but it was so cold, I had to go back to sunny AZ. Now in the 21st century, I live in Phoenix, AZ. The summers are hot, but the winters are amazing.

I agree with you on the climate in the Valley. The summers are a dry heat, so it's a little more tolerable for me. I can't stand heat AND humidity. :P

Well I was in my mothers womb from about Feb til Oct '84!
I've always lived on the outskirts of B'ham (England - in case anyone thought Alabama) my whole life. We lived in Yardley for 3 years, and then moved here to Monkspath, Solihull. But I'm moving to Nottingham in Sept to go to Uni, woo hoo!!

Hey Deemoe! Yes, Riverdale is a nice place. I didn't go to Kennedy. I went to a Catholic high school in Westchester. Port St. Lucie is about an hour north of where I live. Never been there. I live in Boynton Beach. It's between West Palm Beach and Boca Raton. Not much to do here in Boynton (West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale are the fun places) but I do live 5 minutes away from the beach, just like your family ;)
