Subject: help me i.d. this dumb 80s show (Western)

Written By: matt_houston on 05/04/03 at 03:55 p.m.

Does anyone remember this 80s show?  I can't remember many details about it except (a) it was set in the Wild West, sort of a "Magnificent Seven" ripoff...or something like "The A-Team" as a Western, (b) it was on circa 1985-88, (c) it was cancelled almost immediately after appearing, and (d) the gimmick was that each of the four good guys had a special talent: one was a dynamite expert, another was a knife-throwing expert, another always used a whip, another was an expert with his six-guns (or something like that).

I apologize in advance if I'm repeating someone else's question, but that seems impossible, since I doubt anyone remembers or cares about this show!  But you'll be helping me settle a bet of sorts...

I did a quick search on a tv website and I found a description of a show called "Wildside".  Here is the description:

"Short lived (five weeks) show about a secret law enforcement group in Wildside County, California in the Old West. The five are Brodie and Sutton Hollister, Bannister Sparks, Varges De La Cosa and Prometheus Jones. Their job is to eliminate the various villians in the area."

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your research, that's precisely the show I was thinking of.

I just did my own search, armed with the title you gave me, and discovered that Meg Ryan starred on this show (as "Callie Oaks"), when she was a young nobody in 1985.
