Subject: 80's Dance Party - Sun May 25, Bowie MD (DC/Balt)

Written By: Rapture_Man on 05/15/03 at 01:58 p.m.

There's a slammin shindig goin on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend at St. James Episcopal Church in Bowie Maryland, the 80's Dance Party/Youth Group Reunion.

This event will have slammin sound, great lights, and a massive arsenal of the dance music that the 80's are famous for. Yet it will be alcohol, smoke, and drug free.  It is mainly to serve as a youth group reunion type function for area churches, but is open to all.

Advance admission recommended, only $4 via the web site.  Starts at 8pm and all ages are welcome.  Bowie is convenient to Washington DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis.

I got all excited when I read the title of this thread because I am in DC too!  But how much fun could it possibly be with no smokin' and drinking going on?  And I assume because it's "church related" that means no cussing as well?  Well forget that noise  ;D ;D

No way, man.

I know you're a chick and everything, but from my experience catholic girls are easy. No drinkin' or nothing like that. But yeah, if this is some other denomination, then fun will be miles away from the event!

I think that sounds just peachy, good and wholesome. There's just not enough of that these days. It's good the kids have a clean and safe place to party.  :D :)

Yes, I know. My age is showing.

That's right, whatever a person wants to do to have fun, they have a right to do it, s'long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

That's cool, RMan!  Too bad I'm probably too old.   :-/  When I saw "Bowie" tho, I was excited.....

I think it's great to have a clean place to go to.  Esp. now; my nephew goes to local dances (he got into helping the DJ) at an armory which are more and more like public fights.  Police have come there and they've shut the place down a few times.  The DJ who's been doing it for a while has given up on it.  It's ridiculous how kids are - and how they don't get many consequences, obviously.  If the church can handle it, more power to them.  I'd much rather be there than the armory!
