Subject: You probably thought it wouldn't happen...

...but the amount of people I have seen out in the past week at bars/clubs who are wearing leg warmers with stilettos is unbelievable. Who would have thought! To be honest - I really would like a pair of leg warmers - just for the kitch value - I don't think I'd ever wear them out!! ;D

All these 80s fashions are coming back - and I know there have been threads on this in the past. But recently, it's getting more and more apparent. All these neon colours are back, off-the-shoulder tops and net/mesh tops. Last year it was lace and ra-ra skirts. Even tappered trousers are around! I find any trousers which arn't slightly flared so unflattering!

So do you think such fashions are cool, or terrible? I guess I follow fashion to an extent - I just wear what I like. You wouldn't see me wearing a neon yellow top, but perhaps an off-the-shoulder number :)

I'm glad you are seeing 80's fashions come back!! Maybe I've been oblivious to the situation, but I have not seen any inkling of 80's fashion making its return here where I live. Not one tube sock, oversized silk shirt, stirrup pants, nothing! I've really only seen leather trousers (black ones thankfully, not red), but then they never really went away. And there are still mullet-headed men here. But this is Canada...and not big city Canada, like Toronto.

Some 80's fashions I wore I don't ever want to see again, like fluorescent clothing. I have worn the yellow top, with yellow socks, and yellow bow in my hair (lace, like Madonna). I want a big silk shirt with a brooch in between the collars and a pair of leggings or stirrup pants and tube socks. And I'll keep the bow, but I'll wear a black one...like Madonna! :) Ooh, and I'll have a frilly white blouse to wear with my PVC trousers like I used to have. I want my 80's clothes back!!!!!

I haven't seen any girls in leg warmers yet, but I have actually seen leg warmers for sale in the stores, so that's a good sign. However, I never really understood the purpose of leg warmers!  ???

lol, Dagwood! A quote from The Golden Girls:

Aerobics Instructor: "And of course you'll be needing leg warmers."

Dorothy: "Leg warmers?"

Instructor: "Yes. To keep your legs warm before your work-out. What have you been using?"

Dorothy: "Friction! That's why we're here!"  ;D

Girls wearing ankle boots! Yummmmmm. I wonder if they know that old-timers like us used to call them "come-f***-me" boots?  ;)

I don't get the whole 'ankle boot' thing. OK - under trousers, but not with skirts. Knee-high boots are much cooler, i.e. sexier from a girls POV! :D
