Subject: Quick(ish) Questions on 80s - Pls answer  :)

Written By: Criz on 06/02/03 at 03:52 p.m.

(This is last minute research for me here  - I'm kinda cramming!! Just need a few more opinions from you all if it's not too much trouble :))

Here goes...

Were you influenced by the popular culture of the 80s? If yes, why?

Did you have a role model who was a music artist/aspire to be like a certain music artist? If yes, why?

Did you follow the trends of the day? If yes, what did you do/wear?

What music artists would you say were very influential on youth culture in the 1980s?

Many artists challanged the notion of 'traditional gender roles' in the 80s? Can you think of any?

Duran Duran was a group that changed my way of thinking about music. I was always a rocker and thought of groups like that as to pretty to take serious, you know, chick bands. Lots of looks and little talent. These guys made great music that stands up against most stuff put out today. Of course there are many others, ABC,New Order,O.M.D.,the Cure, the list goes on. Non-traditional bands that put out great music. Just a part of what made the '80's great.
