Written By: _Loren_ on 06/06/03 at 09:19 p.m.

Many clubs....many different anthems:

Songs that EVERYone in the club liked..songs that would pack the dance floors....songs that everyone had on mixed tapes

Songs that meant something different to everyone there:

NRG Houston: World Destruction Time zone

6400 Houston: Male stripper Man2Man/ A way The Bolshoi

Club Proteus Houston: Children of the revolution Baby Ford

Bayou Mamas Houston: Tanzen Tragic Error

and so on and so on......

Others????????????

Peace,

Loren

I would have to say the following defined these clubs for me:

NRG - Danielle Dax "Big Hollow Man", Camouflage "The Great Commandment", League of Gentlemen "Humatic", Hard Corps "Lucky Charm".

6400 - "Away", A Split Second "Close Combat", & Section 25 "Looking From a Hilltop" (only because the ONLY time I went to 6400 when it was still Hippos and only existed on Sunday nights they played this song twice!  MORTAL SIN!!!

XCess - Nitzer Ebb "Hearts and Minds", Skinny Puppy "Testure", Front 242 "First IN First OUT"

Rhinestones (Beaumont TX) - Anne Clark "Our Darkness", Data "Over 21", MCL "New York", Erasure "Victim of Love".

Phew...good memories INDEED!

How nice to see someone who was around in those days as well! Another NRG attendee!

Never went to NRG, only a few times to XCess, to young for Hippo, ;D but A LOT to 6400.

The 6400 anthems for me would be:

Peter Schilling-"The Different Story"
MicroChip League- "New York"
Ministry- "Everyday Is Halloween"
Camouflage-"The Great Commandment"
Nitzer Ebb-"Join In The Chant"
Poesie Noire-"Pity For The Self"
The Bollock Brothers-"Harley David (Son Of A B!tch)"
Rockmaster Scott-"The Roof Is On Fire"
Rob Base-"It Takes Two"
Front 242-"Headhunter"
Front 242-"Welcome To Paradise"
Nine Inch Nails-"Down In It"
The Normal-"Warm Leatherette"
The Cult-"Rain"

I think 6400 was more New Order "Beach" or A Split Second "Rigor Mortis"

I only went to NRG's once, and I think it was near the end.  The Adult room was empty and I was getting too many kids asking me to sneak them booze.  When we left there were parents picking up their kids.  We decided to stick with Ocean Club until we found out about Xcess.
