I googled for this, and found nothing.
Does ANYONE here remember how to do the Bird? I found the mp3 (wasn't an easy find!), played it and for the life of me I cannot remember how to do the dance.
My fiancee and I have a 14 year age gap... and I'm trying to (after one-too-many Jack & Cokes) trying to explain that this was quite the big 'dance' when I started highschool which was 1990.. and I'm sure it was popular before then ,since it's an 80's tune. Of course he's looking at me like I've lost it.
I thought someone would have devoted a website as how to do the dance, but no.
Oh, and totally off topic, for anyone that skims this.. I found a gem of a website... www.atariland.com ... I even found the JOURNEY atari game where you can blast Steve Perry into space....... ;)

I can remember doing the Bird, although I cannot remember the exact steps to it! If I remember correctly, you just sort of flapped your arms in a waving fashion and hopped three steps before stopping and starting again! ??? If you find out the exact steps, please let me know!!! :)

Dont they do the bird in Purple Rain? If so, that'd be a good way to refresh your memory.

I think its flapping your arms out to your sides and doing a kind of shuffle step to the sides. Morris Day is the man! Here's a picture of him doing it

I also remember that at the end of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jay and Silent Bob go to a Time concert and I think Morris Day does the bird then too.
