wow, you remember Sonia?! that's so cool! she is a very very famous sex symbol / actress in Brazil, since the late 70s. Most of her characters in tv series and movies been supersexy. There was a movie where she had a threesome hehehe She portraying very well the vamp characters of Jorge Amado's novels (his books been translated and published all over the world). she was absolutely stunning in the 80s.

Then she moved to USA and got several roles in hollywood, IMO a big achievement for a brazilian actress. I always liked her. There were other brazilian actress that i liked better though, but didn't hit overseas.

Anyway, the other day she even had a role in "Sex & the City", where she was a lesbian and had an affair with Samantha (which was surprised to find out that women can ejaculate too LOL). Can you imagine how cool this is? ROFL
My luck is that she became so respected that I'm here in Norway and get to see her in an american tv serie. She still pretty indeed!

Anyway, Ms. Braga's breakthrough role was "Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands" back in the late '70s, which did play in art houses in the States.  There was a crappy American version of this film comedy with Sally Field and James Caan in the early 80s called "Kiss Me Goodbye."  (Logline: Late first husband comes back into his widow's life as a ghost.)
