Subject: Remember When H.S. Powderpuff Games Were Fun?

Written By: Indy Gent on 06/21/03 at 08:18 p.m.

In the 80s, it was fun to watch the senior girls pound the junior girls in actually flag football competition (except when my sister was a senior, and they cancelled the game in my senior year. Boy that's what I call a jinx.) The boys dressed up like cheerleaders, complete with skirts, wigs and pom-poms
There was none of this feces fights, paint dousings and other hazing that has recently surfaced. It's a shame too. These seniors will now have those in their permanent records. How has the Powderpuff Game changed since then?

I don't know how they have changed, but I loved the powderpuff games.  It was the highlight of the homecoming week festivities. (Next to the actual game and the dance, of course ;))  It was great watching the football players dress up as the cheerleaders and try to do the acrobatics. ;D

Maybe the recent hazng was an isolated incident, I hope. But there have been several high school senior traditions we held dear in the 80s, like Vespers, senior breakfast and senior cut day (Which I didn't participate in), in which some hooligan or faculty member ruins it forever. I hope future events can be close to how we remember them in the 80s.
