This has got to be better than ours...surely...!

1980 - Comments as per last time...i.e., great disco..(#2 here)

1981 - The much-maligned medley craze started here, blame the Dutch! Actually, this was about the best of the bunch - (hangs head in shame, I actually bought the album!) (#2 here)

1982 - So corny it's great! Survivor's (and Stallone's) finest hour...bet no-one can resist playing air guitar to that riff! (#1 here)

1983 - Comments as per last time...i.e., okay (#2 here)

1984 - Liked it at the time, not so sure now - I'll have to re-acquaint myself with it somewhat...Duran's finest hour...(#1 here)

1985 - I can still live with it...took a while for Bryan to get established over here...and not with this, a pitiful #38.

1986 - Great stuff! A tad overplayed at the time, but still holds well...#2 here (kept off #1 by that bloody "Chicken Song"...)

1987 - I've only played this a couple of times, probably because I don't care for it much...non-starter here...

1988 - Young Ricky with a song that sounded not a great deal different from his previous 2 (or 3)...didn't like it much then, or now...(#2 here)

1989 - Well, at least we end on a brighter note...good, rousing stuff IMO, but the country as a whole only liked his slushy ballads for some reason (#52)

1980 - 'Funky Town' - Lipps Inc.
Disco from Minnesota! This is pure disco but I prefer the 'Pseudo Echo' version from 1987.

1981 - 'Beatles Medley' - Stars on 45
My dad had this on vinyl. Not exactly my cup of tea.

1982 - 'Eye of the Tiger' - Survivor
Pretty good film soundtrack but I preferred 'Burning Heart'.

1983 - 'What a feeling' - Irene Cara
This powerful slice of 80's ness is, I reckon, the soundtrack for the early eighties.

1984 - 'Reflex' - Duran Duran
I wasn't too keen on it either. But I also agree it was Duran's finest hour.

1985 - 'Heaven' - Bryan Adams
I have no idea about this song.

1986 - 'On my Own' - Patti Labelle/Michael McDonald
A bit too slow for me. McDonald did better songs during the 80s.

1987 - 'Head to Toe' - Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam
I have no idea about this song either.

1988 - 'Together Forever' - Rick Astley
This is one catchy tune. Not his absolute best (perhaps third behind the classic 'Never gonna give you up' and 'She wants to dance with me') but it's up there.

1989 - 'Satisfied' - Richard Marx
I know nothing about this song but I think I will look it up. Slush like 'Right here waiting for me' will not deter me.

Yes!  Good rousing stuff, indeed!  I just love his upbeat songs...especially "Don't Mean Nothing" (my favorite)...but I have to admit that I also like some of his slower stuff such as "Hold Onto The Nights" and "Angelia".  Very talented guy, IMO.  :D

Tee Hee! Oh well! I kind of like the Lipps Inc. version but it was a little too flat for me. Pseudo Echo gave the song a bit more bass.  :)

1980 - Funkytown - Lipps, Inc. - not one of my favorites...though everytime I hear this song it reminds me of a time about 4ys ago when I was in a small village in Nicaragua and they put speakers on their cars to announce daily events..anyways..one doctor decided to use this song to announce that he was opening his office in town..and I was thinking..He must be one funky doctor

1981 - Beatles Medley - Stars On 45 - I have that record..and played it alot..when I was a teen

1982 - Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor - at the time I thought it was a really cool song..and so was the movie

1983 - Flashdance...What A Feeling - Irene Cara - wasn't one of my favorite...though I actually like the rest of the songs off the album...the movie was cool too

1984 - The Reflex - Duran Duran - Cool song..and I agree that this was their finest hour

1985 - Heaven - Bryan Adams - cool song though I liked his earlier albums

1986 - On My Own - Patti LaBelle & Michael McDonald - was a cool song but I think they played it too much on the radio at the time

1987 - Head To Toe - Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Not really aquainted this bands music

1988 - Together Forever - Rick Astley - a very catchy tune..just like most of his major hits

1989 - Satisfied - Richard Marx -I like his music..but I more aquainted with his other songs
