:o I liked "Mother May I?"  but I especially like SASSY SUSAN!! Remember that game?  Little Susan would ask permission to do something and if mommy or daddy said no, little Susan would get sassy.  Then mommy or daddy would beat them with a stick (not a real stick of course!)  we used Nerf bats. it was fun...anyway other favorites were "Old Lady Nicodemius" and "Boochie Boochie Tag"...oh and who could forget "Freeze Tag", "TV Tag", and "Statues"...oohhh, and "Make Me Laugh", "Hide n Seek"...memories.... makes me wanna cry!!

Good topic. As kids we played Man Hunt, Hide the Belt, Red light Green light. As young teens we played basket ball, base ball, football, hockey. Then as older teens it was party time.

I remember playing man hunt.  Can someone refresh me on how it's played?

Those were fun games that have been mentioned. I especially liked: blind man
old man rose-a-lee (?. "Sat on a fence. Trying to get to Heaven on....")
                     doctor-mix-up
                     red rover

But my all time favorite summertime activity without a contest: SWIMMING

BMX bike riding, skateboarding, rollerskating, playing football and baseball with friends in the neighborhood, basically anything outside.

Summer in Seattle, on weekends, I used to paddle my kayak from Lake Washington through the Montlake Cut into Lake Union before my arms would give out.  It was beautiful but you had to dodge big boats, seaplanes, and out of control sail boards.

My buddy and I hanging out at the mall and catching the latest summer flicks.

Getting up early to deliver our paper routes, coming home to gnosh on S'mores Crunch or something-or-other, crashing out on the floor and waking up to take-in some MTV then hopping the bus to the comic book shop.

Staying up late at night to ride our bikes all around town because there were hardly any cars on the streets.

  Good topic.  Thanks.

loved all the games like mother may i and red rover...we used to build opstical courses(my dad  worked with wood he was a carpenter..so we had lots of lumber and tools..)we would try to imitate dare..doudle dare..and the fun house(80's show on fox and nick)like cross the monkey bars while having super soakers spayed at you ..or slid into the little pool full of mud grass mayo or anything we could sneek out and find the flag..it was fun.
also i was a tom boy .loved to ride bikes and climb trees ,build club houses, play truth or dare spin the bottle seven minutes in heaven...ok i loved digital undergroung..shante roxanne..nkotb.....iloved being a kid in the 80's..when you could play and not worry about drugs and drive bys
