Subject: VH1 Classic RULES

Written By: cyclonus5150 on 07/03/03 at 10:48 a.m.

Guys, I don't know if anyone has posted about this before but if you get a chance to check out VH1-Classic, please do.  You won't be dissapointed.  They play some of the greatest 80s videos that you never EVER thought you'd see again.  NO COMMERCIALS - just wall to wall videos, mostly 80's.  The Metal Mania show is to die for.  Nothing but 80's metal videos.  Remember Britney Foxx's hit "Girl's School"?  You bet you do and it's right there in front of your steaming naked eyes folks.  Right there next to "I'm the Man" by Anthrax.  You gotta check it out.  Also, here is a really cool article about it in Spin Magazine.  THis guy apparently watched the channel for 24-hours straight and wrote all about his experience.  Check it out.

I would love to watch it, but I don't have satellite nor digital cable.  :-/

On the bright side, I collect music video collections on video/DVD.
(A fare substitute of having VH1 Classic. In my opinion.)

"Fallen Angel" is on of my favorite videos and it appears on Poison's video greatest hits DVD.

If I were to get satellite or be in a hotel room with satellite, watching VH1 Classic would be the first thing I'll do.

VH1 Classic is indeed awesome!  To see the videos I grew up with again is incredible.  I do have one minor peeve though:  why didn't Viacom call it MTV Classic?  Would have made more sense to me!  Either way, I watch it religously and upgraded to digital cable for that station alone!

Hey my pet peeve is the whole name "VH1 Classic".  If that doesn't make anyone that grew up in the 1980's feel old, geez I don't know what does.  Granted I realize that if something is 20 years old or more, i.e. 1980-1983 then it generally gets called "classics" in the same way the 60's were called classic and oldies back in the 80's, and the 70's in the 90's.  But it's bizzare seeing stuff from 1988 and 1989 on a network devoted to classic videos/songs.  Sometimes they even throw a few videos from the early 90's on VH1 Classic.

"VH1 80's" or "MTV 80's" would be a far better name in my opinion.
