Subject: Looking for help with a song title

Written By: Kellswitch on 07/28/03 at 01:45 p.m.

I'm looking for a song by Toto.  I'm not sure what album it was on.
The video was a bunch of children find a homeless man sleeping in a barn and for some reason take him for some kind of religious figure.  They end up giving him a bible that he reads to them from before the police come and take him away.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks in advance  :)

You have no idea how much I wish I could give you some!
All I remember of the song is the video and how it stuck in my head at the time.
I used to have a copy of it on tape from the library many, many, many years ago.  It may have been on the same album that had Africa and Rosanna.
Saddly that's all the information I have  :(
I know I'm asking a lot here, so any help would be appreciated!

Was it "99"?

"99
I've been waiting so long
Oh, 99
Where did we go wrong
Oh, 99
I love you

99
I keep breaking your heart
Oh, 99
How can we be apart
Oh, 99
I love you

I never thought it would happen
I feel quite the same
I don't want to hurt you anymore
I never knew it would work out
No one to blame
You know I love you 99

99
You keep holding my hand

Oh, 99
They don't know who I am

99
I can't take it no more
Oh, 99
Oh we were so sure
Oh, 99
I love you "

The song you're looking for is "Stranger In Town"...

"Stranger in town", the video like the song, was influenced heavily by the film 'Whistle down the wind', starring Hayley Mills, the story of an escaped convict who seeks sanctuary in the country, and encounters a group of children who mistake him for the returned Jesus. The gendarmes, though, catch up to the escapee and cart him off again. The fugitive in "Stranger in town", was portrayed by Brad Dourif (known from 'Dune'). The band members were seen only as faint superimpositions while the fugitive hid in a tunnel, and Fergie flamboyantly portrayed his 'revived' first victim. The video was filmed in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.

Thank you so much for you help.
And thank you to everyone who tried to help!
I know I gave you all almost nothing to work with.
It is both awesome and scary how much 80's trivia and knowledge is represented here  :D

I confirm.  Great song, but I have a question (see below).

Who was B-B-Billy B-B-B-Bibbitt in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"

My question: The version I have at home (somewhere) is different from the one that I recall hearing on the radio/MTV.
The one I remember, toward the end, after the line "Better watch out there's a stranger in town", you heard a loud "Hey-hey-hey-hey!", which I don't hear when I go back and listen to the version I have (which I got as an mp3 somewhere).
Any explanation?

Thanks
