this site is for you!!! my uncle used to have the 1983 Runner's Calc Watch w/Speed, Dist. for jogging and my whole school had to stop wearing calculator watches in exams day, ROFL

btw, what kind of watch do you wear now?

I still wear a Casio (F-91W)! did you have any of those quartz 80s watches with graphic design & that came with a set of several coloured wristbands so you could switch it and have a new look according to your clothes or mood of the day? LOL i had! with big numbers only 12, 3, 6 and 9  8)

Oh and I had an yellow water proof walkman and another 80s sony... loved the funky/neon colors and design of the 80s electronics.. nowadays everything is grey!

*sigh* the good old times...

Interesting site there, Digitales. I think my uncle had a watch similar to the ones on the site. The boom boxes were part of the 'Breakdance' lifestyle of the early 80s - wonderful.

The watch I wear now is an Ellese one with metal chain - quite expensive, cost me £80.

I wear a SA-54 everyday.  I actually picked up a couple cool watches the other day at the flea.  one is a led watch (these are fairly hard to come by) and the other was a clear Swatch.

I have a Q-bert watch and a Dukes of Hazard watch too.

I think my favorite time telling devices though are my Game & Watches. http://www.krakboi.com/arcades/Game&Watches.jpg
The games are actually still a whole lot of fun to play.

I still have my Casio calculator watch from 1984, it's the same one first listed on the website URL you provided.  I haven't worn it since then!  :)

I have been wearing a Casio barometric watch since 1990, and have just upgraded to a newer model last year.  I do lots of hiking so the altimeter, thermometer, and compass come in handy and appeal to the techno-geek within me.  ;D  I'm waiting for their GPS watch to come down in size.

By the way, that Seiko TV watch was pretty advanced for it's time.  I remember asking for that for christmas one year.  :)

I've just got an email reply from my uncle and he asked if i wanted the watch!!! how cool!
yep the boomboxes were really something of the breakdance era. The 90's brought the microm soundsystem types. I liked the bigger stuff better, we could show off outside, LOL

you got an expensive watch there. Is it digital?
i've saw some vintage 80s watches and walkmen on ebay. I wish I had loads of money to collect or wear some of those...

take care!!  :-*

I've just received

OMG!!!! I had a gamewatch!!!! i still have but not here at home (my sister is taking care of it, in Brazil). It was the best thing ever after my msx! i played all the time, one that had a diver who would leave the boat, go down in the sea and steal some treasure in the bottom, but watch out for those octopus!!! it was so much fun. I remember also playing something called aquaplay, it was a box with water and we could move the things inside with some buttoms that would release air... so we could even play basketball figures things, just thrown the ball in the basket heheh. They started selling in brazil at around the 70's but had it's boom in the early 80's.

wow, you really save things!!! You should wear it for the sake of celebrating the 80's!!! i feel so much like an outsider here in Norway, I guess I'm the only girl in the whole country that still wears a digital casio 80's style. Majority are into those fancy leather or designer girly stuff.

>I have been wearing a Casio barometric watch since 1990, and have just upgraded to a newer model last year.  I do lots of hiking so the altimeter, thermometer, and compass come in handy and appeal to the techno-geek within me.  ;D  I'm >waiting for their GPS watch to come down in size.

yeah!!! that's the coolest, all those features are so cool! i saw once one new watch that counts calories and sort of works like a pedometer! it was yellow, plastic and all digital, but was too modern looking for my taste and was big. So i passed on on that one.

>By the way, that Seiko TV watch was pretty advanced for it's time.  I remember asking for that for christmas one >year.  :)

heck, it still looks very advanced to me! Oh and those that worked like a radio? also i didn't know there were wrist watches were you could play small games...i never met anyone back in the 80s that had those. Looked very atari like to me :)
SO you never got the tv watch? maybe you can ask again to your parents, HEHEHE  :P
take care!

Seeing that brought back some old memories.

THe calculator I owned for many years was made by Radio Shack.  It had a pretty good Blackjack game, which was great for killing time in math class.  :)

I lost mine many years ago, I wish I knew where I could find another one.  But I saw that it still lives on the net!
