Subject: Can Anyone Identify This (c.81/Female) Song?

Written By: Jimbee on 08/13/03 at 02:09 a.m.

I heard this song when I was still in grade school. I heard it around the 1981-82 school year. And it was sung by a female singer. Naturally there'd be no way for me to share the melody with you in this forum. But the lyrics go "Are you lonely now? Too afraid to be lonely now? Are you lonely? Too afraid to let go?" and the chorus goes "lonely living on the gray side. lonely, I need a place to hide. lonely living on the gray side...only love can..."

Does anyone know what song I am talking about? Come to think of it, it sounded alot like Juice Newton--or maybe the group A Taste of Honey ??? . More Info: I heard it on a popular music station, so it definitely would be considered "top 40"  music (if I am using that term correctly). (I have actually tried looking for this song in lists of the top 40 songs for those years--so far without success ??? ). As I've pointed out, it is hard to describe the melody just in the printed word. But the song was kind soft and melodious, if that's any help. And woman's voice had kind of a soft, sighing quality to it as she sang it.

Thank you in advance  :) :) :)
