1980 - Upside Down - Diana Ross 5 - yessss! Classic!

1981 - Endless Love - Diana Ross & Lionel Richie 4 - well-performed slush from Di & Li...

1982 - Hard To Say I'm Sorry - Chicago 4 - super ballad from the guys...

1983 - Tell Her About It - Billy Joel 4 - unbelieveably stiffed here when first released! 'Uptown Girl' came to its rescue...fine 'throwback' to 50's/60's pop...

1984 - Missing You - John Waite 4 - good power ballad from ex-Babys man...his only hit here...

1985 - Money For Nothing - Dire Straits 3 - not a big fan of Dire Straits of this period...song's okay, but more memorable for the video...

1986 - Stuck With You - Huey Lewis & The News 3 - harmless enough number...still not as good as their earlier efforts...

1987 - I Just Can't Stop Loving You - Michael Jackson 1 - complete load of tripe! Did the rot start here?

1988 - Don't Worry Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin 3 - naggingly catchy, but soon grew tiresome...

1989 - Girl I'm Gonna Miss You - Milli Vanilli 1 - simply awful!

1980 - Upside Down - Diana Ross  This one snuck in right at the end of the disco era.  Not bad.  3.5

1981 - Endless Love - Diana Ross & Lionel Richie  I like singing this one at karaoke clubs (don't laugh, Paul!)...4

1982 - Hard To Say I'm Sorry - Chicago  Good stuff!  Takes me back to my high school days.  4

1983 - Tell Her About It - Billy Joel  Very bouncy tune, but not a favorite.  3

1984 - Missing You - John Waite  I got tired of hearing this one.  It was played on radios constantly!  3

1985 - Money For Nothing - Dire Straits  Fun song, but as Paul said not nearly as good as some of their other stuff.  3.5

1986 - Stuck With You - Huey Lewis & The News  Boring.  3

1987 - I Just Can't Stop Loving You - Michael Jackson  I didn't care for 'The Gloved One' during this time.  1.5

1988 - Don't Worry Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin  Not bad the first few times you hear it; after that it grates on you.  3

1989 - Girl I'm Gonna Miss You - Milli Vanilli  I don't really remember this one, so I'll give it an average score of 3.
