Subject: Fashion Help

Written By: Caki on 09/30/03 at 03:58 p.m.

I need to know the name of the pants that people wore in the late 70's early 80's.  The pants were somewhat blousy, but ended below the knee, but usally had a band to keep them fitted to the leg.  Most were made out of courduroy.  It has been bugging me for the last week.  ANy help would be appreciated.

Thanks :D

I'm sure we just called them either pedal pushers or knickerbockers.

I had some pants like these...sound like knickers to me but maybe youre looking for a particular brand name.  The ones I had were actually from the 80s and were not made of courdaroy.  Mine were made of nylon and were very billowy, with an elastic drop waist and and elastic leg cuffs at the knee.  I had three pair...one in white  one in black and one red pair.  I wore them with tights in colder weather...they were lots of fun!  (I still have two pair!)

I, shamefully, had a pair of said pants, and I called them "pedal-pushers." Mine were not corduoroy, however, but were probably cotton or something, in a lovely shade of hot pink. :)
