Subject: The best years of my life.

Written By: TenderHeart114 on 10/05/03 at 10:58 p.m.

:)  Do I miss those days. I still remember a lot of things that happened. I miss being in elementary school. I occasionally buy things from the past to make me feel great. I love Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Scooby Doo and tons of  other things as well. I have a bunch of favorite actors and actresses from the 80's. My absolute favorites are Kevin Bacon and Val Kilmer, Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock. If I could travel back into time, I would like to start from January 14, 1977 and do it all over again.

That is really nice, Tenderheart.

I often buy stuff from the past, especially when I feel sentimental and nostalgic - I usually buy 80s films on DVD (the last ones I bought were Labyrinth and Stir Crazy) and 80s music.

It certainly cheers me up.  :D

I'm a nostalgic person myself. I collect, read, listen OR watch  almost everything that is old. 8)

between 1983 and 1988 were the coolest years for me! Those were the years when Miami Vice was filming here in MIami, and everything nice happened during those years, fashion, music, oh man, if I could only go back to 1985!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'(

Thanks. I am so in love with the movie Labryinth. I love David Bowie as well. I would be so happy right now if I had that movie along with License To Drive.  I would watch the movie everyday.

I collect a lot of stuff that reminds me of my childhood.  Mostly videogames (www.krakboi.com) but other stuff too.

It is crazy how big the 80s thing is right now.  I caught a show here recently (The Epoxies and teh Briefs) that was a total throw back.  Everyone was all decked out in their new wave and punk clothes.  I had a blast.  After the bands were done, they played 80s music until closing time.

Tones on Tail and Pabst Blue Ribbon.  WHat else could you ask for!

I get a kick out of having been a teenager in the eighties but I'm glad I'm not there anymore!
No way in HELL I'd relive high school which sucked green weinies all the way.
The hair and the music and the makeup was fun but I'm still scraping eyeshadow off my head!

they truly were the best years of my life as well - this is a nice topic - i so often think about my childhood. i'm 25 now, working at a job i can't stand - when i hate my present i tend to refer to my past to make me happy and thinking about the 80's certainly does that for me.  from playing Atari and Nintendo to hide and seek and boochie boochie tag and freeze tag... from Mother May I to rides in the car with my parents to McDonalds to get a happy meal or going around town looking at christmas lights...i could go on and on..i miss the 80's. i miss my childhood. i fear the best years of my life are behind me... my only wish is that someone will someday invent a time machine and i can use it to go back to AUgust 6 1978 and relive it all...

We do?? ;)

Whenever I listen to Bryan Adams song "Summer Of 69" I can relate to the meaning of that song to what I experienced in the early/mid 80's.  Kinda weird I guess but that's the effect it had on me.

Why should I? I'm most likely only going to live once. I was still rather a bit young to live the whole culture of the 80s', but I had an older brother who was in high school at the time, and I went to an elementary school that went up to grade 8 so I got a good eye on what the trends were. I wish I could go back to February 1976 and relive my life...

But you know,we all can store our memories in a box or somewhere where you can keep nostalgia.I think I'll keep all my"old stuff"for my old age and show it to my kids.If I have any by that time. ;D
